Being a little bit of a technology laggard, I was surprised to recently learn that a lot of the fantastic HD video that I watch online is in part because I have a newer laptop powered by the Intel Core2 Duo processor.  It turns out that a good friend of mine cannot watch his favorite television shows online — because they come across really choppy on his older desktop.  They are just unwatchable. 

I was laughing because originally, my friend was making fun of me for not having a DVR.  (That’s right.  I don’t.)  But my little secret is that I don’t need one.  I can watch almost any of my favorite TV shows online in superb quality without it – on my laptop. 

Between sites like Hulu.com, NBC.com, and ABC.go.com, so many of my favorite TV shows are only a click away — whenever and wherever I want to watch them.  So, can you Hulu?  Do you?  What other sites do you use for watching great HD video online?
